The Paperdoll Gallery Presents Todd J. Horton
Gallery Showcase: November 6 - December 3, 2009
Opening Reception: November 6, 6-10PM (Downtown Gallery Walk)

The Paperdoll is proud to present “Ten Beavers”, a new collection of paintings by Todd J. Horton.

Known for his ability to capture elusive movements in nature, Horton sets animals into motion, suspending time itself. In his Paperdoll debut, Horton’s newest collection features paintings which focus on discovering the hidden beavers of downtown Bellingham, revealing glimpses of the shadows in the lives they lead.

Born into an artistically inclined household, Horton was born and raised in a village located next to one of our nation’s largest biological/chemical warfare research facilities in London, Ohio. After a stint in the armed forces, Horton returned to begin his studies at Ohio University in South Eastern Ohio. There his educational focus shifted from traditional studies to beer, art history, women and sculpture. His art, “education” and wanderlust led him to all corners of the world where he illustrated children’s books in South Korea, taught English and Art in Hungary, exhibited works in “Art Forum Berlin 2002” and even owned and operated a successful gallery and cafĂ© in Columbus, Ohio. But, as luck would have it Horton found his way to Bellingham where in his words he found a ” very special and exceedingly rare place(s) (especially in the U.S.A.), where several important ingredients for the good life come together in one spot.”

Todd J. Horton’s gallery showcase will remain on display at The Paperdoll throughout the month of November. For additional information regarding the showcase, or for more detail on the work of Todd J. Horton, please contact The Paperdoll @ 360-738-DOLL(3655) or visit www.thepaperdoll.com
