Corey Urlacher Debut : "Collectibles"
Urlacher's Paperdoll debut "Collectibles" features a new series of sculptures based on the idea of collected figurines and toys. These precious macabre objects are created in the spirit of nightmares, horror and Halloween. Urlacher's collection will remain on display at The Paperdoll October 2nd through November 5th, 2009, opening reception October 2nd 6-10PM during the downtown Bellingham Art Walk. Live music, refreshments and artist meet and greet to accompany.

Jess Flegel for The Paperdoll September 2009
The Paperdoll is proud to present “By and By”, a new collection of collage work by multi-media artist Jess Flegel.
Flegel’s Paperdoll debut "By and By" features over 35 small hand stitched paper and mixed media collage pieces. Stamps from her childhood collection, traditional quilting textiles, as well as scenery and photographs from her native Chicago and current home Bellingham are presented like postcards from Flegel's life. Her work, though deeply personal, inspires a search for a sense of place that is something we can all relate to.
Born and raised outside of Chicago, Illinois, Flegel received her BFA at Judson University. After graduating, Flegal relocated to Bellingham, where she has been living and working for the past six years. Much of Flegel's work is inspired by looking back at her roots, geographically, as well as through family traditions. These inspirations are prominent in her most recent collection.

Tal Connor for The Paperdoll
MashUp, a collection of small drawings
and wall sculptures by Bellingham artist
Tal Connor will be on display through
the month of August at The Paperdoll
Boutique and Gallery. Connor describes his showcase as a response
to our culture of overlapping information
and entertainment similar to a “mashup ”
in music , a layering of unique vocal and
instrumental tracks combined to create a
whole new sound. This technique is used
masterfully by Connor in his Paperdoll
debut.; a mash-up of many inspirations.

Paperdoll Presents Karie Jane
We are so excited to be presenting "Vignettes", a new collection of small gouache and ink pieces on reclaimed vintage ephemera, by Bellingham based artist Karie Jane Von Allmen. “Vignettes” explores imaginary imagery through multiple different series including, miniature fanciful bird portraiture, calendar girls from an undefined era, and "hair people" portraits.
